This artwork depicts my great-great-grandfather, a member of my family, Sheikh Yusuf bin Isa Al-Qana’i—a pioneer of the intellectual and educational renaissance in Kuwait, and one of the most prominent figures in the history of its modern judicial and reformist movements.
He dedicated his life to serving his community, and through his ideas and contributions, he laid the foundational stones that shaped the nation’s cultural and social consciousness—from the establishment of Al-Mubarakiya School (1911) and Al-Ahmadiya School (1921), to his pivotal role in founding the National Library and the Municipal Council.
